In Germany, the U.S. Consulate in Munich is one of a total of six diplomatic missions of the United States of America. Those who wish to apply for a US visa in Germany must, in almost all cases, make an appointment in person at one of the US missions in Germany.

As a rule, the U.S. Consulate in Munich is open to visa applicants during the week from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 12:00. Please note that only persons with a visa appointment are granted access to the US consulate in Munich.
To German and American holidays the US Consulate Munich is closed. No interview appointments will take place on these days, nor will US visa applications be processed.
Nearly all people between the age of 14 and 79 who have a to apply for US visa are required to go in person to one of the responsible US consulates.
