Your question:

We have been trying for several days to create a profile or log in to book a visa interview appointment. Either the website is not accessible at all, the login does not work or the process keeps aborting with error messages. Can you help us and what is the current problem?

Our answer:

Unfortunately, you are not alone with this problem at the moment. There are currently considerable technical problems with the official online system of the US consulate service provider "TravelDocs" throughout Germany and internationally at www.usvisascheduling.com.

Applicants are required to create their personal online profile via this portal, which consular fees pay and then make an appointment for the necessary visa interview agree. However, it is precisely this process that is currently massively impaired.

For some time now, but especially in recent weeks, there has been a significant increase in technical failures. Applicants have reported the following problems, among others:

  • The website does not load at all or only loads very slowly
  • Login processes abort or generate error messages
  • Profiles that have already been created seem to disappear or cannot be edited or certain buttons are missing
  • Data entries are not saved
  • Payment processes for consular fees fail
  • Appointments cannot be made
  • The system reports technical errors or unexpectedly kicks users out of the portal

The US consulate or the responsible technical service provider is aware of this problem and is working on rectifying the faults. Unfortunately, however, no sustainable improvement in the situation is currently discernible.

As the technical difficulties lie entirely with the official external service provider of the US consulate, the possibilities for visa agencies to exert influence are unfortunately also very limited. We are also constantly monitoring the situation and are in regular contact with affected applicants.

Especially in the current situation, many applicants particularly appreciate the support provided by our agency: we continuously take care of the necessary checks in the online system, create the corresponding profiles, accompany the individual processing steps and take care of communication and scheduling for our customers. This significantly reduces the time required and unnecessary additional stress.

Applicants who have submitted theirvisa application can submit queries directly via the TravelDocs system in the event of technical problems within their profile or contact the service provider's technical support directly:

To the support page

Unfortunately, this is only available to a limited extent and you should allow around 1-3 days to receive a response to inquiries via the profile.

To avoid additional problems, we currently recommend the following procedure:

  • If possible, use the English version of the website
  • Preferably use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
  • Open the page in private incognito mode
  • Never create multiple user profiles, as this often leads to further technical conflicts
  • Try to access outside peak usage times, for example early in the morning or late in the evening or at weekends
  • If the login was successful, be patient until all the necessary functions are displayed in the profile. Avoid frequently clicking on different areas.
  • Plan for significantly longer processing times for your visa application at present

Please understand that this may currently delay many visa procedures. We will of course continue to provide our customers with the best possible support and are always available to answer any questions you may have.
