The global political and economic developments of recent years have led to enormous challenges for the global community as a whole and for international trade relations in particular. Nevertheless, the USA has been able to demonstrate its stability as a safe economic haven over the past years of crises.
The aggressive subsidy policy initiated by the US government in 2022 plays a central role in this context. Legislative initiatives such as the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), the CHIPS and Science Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law are intended to boost the domestic economy and make it strong for the future.
One focus is on promoting new and green technologies. This makes the US market a particularly attractive investment location for many European companies.
The promotion of trade and investment in the USA contributes to higher growth rates, secure supply chains and the creation of new jobs and is therefore specifically supported.
The U.S. Department of Commerce and a variety of regional and state economic development organizations, chambers of commerce and private service providers are actively working to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and increase trade activity.
Essentially, three main organizations are dedicated to attracting foreign companies to the US, each operating at different levels and offering unique services:

At the state level, the Council of American States in Europe (CASE) represents the economic interests of US states in Europe.
CASE helps European companies identify and capitalize on opportunities in the US by providing detailed information on market conditions, economic incentives and investment opportunities at the state level.
As a bridge between European investors and the US states, CASE helps to simplify the investment process and promote economic cooperation.
At local level, the Transatlantic Business & Investment Council (TBIC) represents cities, municipalities and regional alliances in Europe. The TBIC establishes direct links between European companies and economic development organizations (EDOs) in the respective cities and regions and familiarizes European company representatives with the regional and industry-specific characteristics of different US regions and the associated investment opportunities.
