The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) allows for certain application processes, such as work visas, accelerated processing by means of Premium Processing. We explain who can use the Premium Processing service and how to apply.
The I-907 application form is entitled Request for Premium Processing Service and can be used as an optional expedited procedure when applying for a visa. With this, the USCIS guarantees processing within 15, 30 or 45 business days of receipt of the application. However, the Premium Processing procedure does not mean that the USCIS will generally make a decision on the application within these specified days. The USCIS has the possibility at any time within this period to make inquiries about the application (Request for Evidence, RFE).
For urgent postings, the use of the optional Premium Processing procedure is recommended without question. The I-907 form is then submitted together with the I-129 application form, for example, which is the standard application form for work visas applied for via the USCIS in the United States. However, applicants should check in advance whether the USCIS allows the Premium Processing procedure for the visa category applied for.
