Please note that there are still longer waiting times for available interview appointments - especially for the B category. You should therefore submit a new application for a B visa in good time.
If you can submit the application by post, the processing time until you receive your visa varies greatly depending on the US consulate responsible. Once the documents have been received by the consulate, you should allow around 2-4 weeks for your passport to be returned with the new B visa.
Please note that the remaining period of validity of your old visa cannot be transferred to the new visa. In addition, the application should of course be well prepared, as the previous B visa is no guarantee for a new, quasi-automatic, visa approval. All application documents must therefore be submitted to the US consulate again.
